Only 12 players in the history of the National Football League have scored as many touchdowns in a single season as Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones in 2019.
Jones scored 23 total touchdowns over 18 games this season. He set a franchise record for touchdowns in a single season (regular and postseason) and became just the 13th player ever to find the end zone 23 total times in one year.
Jones scored 19 touchdowns (16 rushing, three receiving) over 16 games in the regular season and another four touchdowns (three rushing, one receiving) in two playoff games.
The following players are the only players to scored 23 or more touchdowns in a single season, playoffs included: O.J. Simpson (1975), Chuck Foreman (1975), John Riggins (1983), Jerry Rice (1987), Emmitt Smith (1992, 1994, 1995), Terrell Davis (1997, 1998), Marshall Faulk (2000, 2001), Priest Holmes (2002, 2003), Shaun Alexander (2005), LaDainian Tomlinson (2006), Randy Moss (2007) and Todd Gurley (2018).
Eight of the 12 players are now Hall of Famers.
Overall, Jones produced 1,202 rushing yards, 505 receiving yards, 1,707 total yards, 19 rushing touchdowns and four receiving touchdowns during the 2019 season.
Despite leading the NFL in touchdowns scored, Jones was not selected to the Pro Bowl.
