Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love threw a career-high five “big-time throws” — the highest-graded and most valuable throws as tracked by Pro Football Focus — on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Overall, Love completed five passes gaining over 30 yards and seven total gaining 20 or more. Three of the throws over 30 yards came on third down.
“I thought he was playing with a lot of confidence,” said coach Matt LaFleur. “I thought he was decisive. Made some big-time throws down the field.”
Per PFF, Love completed 5-of-8 passes traveling over 20 yards in the air. Deep accuracy and production have been issues for Love and the Packers all season, but the deep passing game finally clicked Sunday.
Love threw near-perfect passes to Jayden Reed on a 35-yard touchdown, Luke Musgrave on a 36-yard completion down the seam and Romeo Doubs on an 8-yard touchdown to the back corner of the end zone. He also bought time and improvised big plays to Reed for 46 yards and Dontayvion Wicks for 32 yards. Doubs and Musgrave had other catches of 20 or more yards.
PFF loosely defines a “big-time throw” as any throw on “the highest end of both difficulty and value.” Love now has 14, tied with Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes for the 13th most among quarterbacks this season.

Love’s previous best in a game was two big-time throws, which he’s done four times in 2023 (vs. Falcons, vs. Saints, vs. Lions and vs. Vikings).
