Packers QB Aaron Rodgers sets franchise record for TD passes in season

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers set a new team record for touchdown passes in a single season.

Rodgers threw touchdown passes to Robert Tonyan and Marquez Valdes-Scantling to start Sunday’s season finale against the Chicago Bears, bringing his season total to 46, one more than the 45 touchdown passes he threw during the 2011 season.

Rodgers is now tied with Drew Brees (2011) for the sixth-most touchdown passes in a season. He is also just the second player in NFL history with two or more seasons with 45 or more touchdown passes, joining Peyton Manning.

Dan Marino is fifth in NFL history with 48 touchdown passes during the 1984 season. The NFL record is 55 touchdown passes, set by Manning in 2013.
