Packers QB Aaron Rodgers ranked 7th among highest-paid athletes in 2019

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers made the top 10 of the world’s 100 highest-paid athletes list for 2019.

According to Forbes, Rodgers ranked seventh among all athletes with roughly $89.3 million in total earnings, which includes salaries, winnings and estimated endorsement incomes between June 1, 2018 and June 1, 2019.

Rodgers ranked one spot above NBA star LeBron James and one spot below fellow NFL quarterback Russell Wilson. Soccer’s Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar held the top three spots.

Rodgers, who signed a four-year, $134 million contract extension last August, brought in over $80 million in salary and roughly $9 million in endorsements over the last calendar year, according to Forbes.

Rodgers’ deal currently ranks third in the NFL in average value at $33.5 million. He earned a roster bonus of $13.4 million in March.

Forbes estimated Rodgers earned $21.1 million in 2018, which wasn’t enough to rank him among the world’s top 100 athletes. This is Rodgers’ first appearance in the top 100 since 2015.
