Packers Put Out Statement Over Concerns About Lions Fans Swarming Lambeau Field

After the sports world witnessed Lions fans turn Lambeau Field into Ford Field on Thursday night, the Packers organization felt compelled to issue a statement, via Kyle Malzhan of WFRV Local 5.

The crowd, which is normally packed with Wisconsin faithful clad in yellow jerseys and cheeseheads, was instead filled with a sea of Blue during Detroit’s impressive 34–20 win over Green Bay.

“The Packers have encouraged our ticket holders to sell to other Packers fans when possible,” the statement, shared by Malzhan, reads. “The secondary market, however, allows fans from anywhere to purchase tickets and Lambeau Field remains a popular destination for all fans, including those from other teams. We have seen this particularly with divisional games.”

While addressing the overwhelming Lions fan attendance, the organization also stressed that having the ability to purchase away-game tickets is how Green Bay often experiences strong road support of their own.

"Conversely, this is how the Packers often enjoy many Packers fans at away games."

Watching Amon-Ra St. Brown pulling off a “Lambeau Leap” into the embracing arms of Detroit fans seated in the front row was certainly odd.
