The Green Bay Packers will be without rookie center Josh Myers for at least the next three games.
The Packers placed Myers, who was already ruled out of Sunday’s visit from the Washington Football Team, on injured reserve on Saturday. He will miss games against Washington, Arizona Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs before he’s eligible to return.
Myers, a second-round pick, started five of the first six games. He injured his knee on the fourth play from scrimmage against the Chicago Bears last Sunday and didn’t practice all week.
Coach Matt LaFleur believed Myers would need to miss a couple of games with the injury.
Lucas Patrick, who started at center in Week 5 and replaced Myers there last week, will be expected to start at center once again. To help replace some depth along the offensive line, the Packers also elevated Ben Braden from the practice squad as a COVID-19 replacement (Malik Taylor).
The Packers now have an open roster spot entering Sunday.
Myers would be eligible to return and play in Week 10 against the Seattle Seahawks.
