Packers place LB Krys Barnes, QB Jordan Love on COVID-19 reserve list

The Green Bay Packers put two rookies on the NFL’s reserve/COVID-19 list on Friday.

The team placed linebacker Krys Barnes and quarterback Jordan Love on the list following Thursday night’s win over the San Francisco 49ers.

Barnes tested positive for COVID-19, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Love, a roommate of Barnes, would be going on the reserve list as a high risk contact.

Barnes played 25 snaps for the Packers in San Francisco on Thursday night. He left the game with a calf injury and didn’t return. Love, the Packers’ first-round pick, was inactive.

Barnes and Love were high school teammates. They are now roommates in Green Bay.

Barnes and Love are joining running backs A.J. Dillon and Jamaal Williams and linebacker Kamal Martin as the five Packers players on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Dillon tested positive on Monday, while Williams and Martin were high risk contacts.

The Packers beat the 49ers on Thursday night and won’t play again until next Sunday, Nov. 15.
