Packers officially announce release of TE Jimmy Graham

The Green Bay Packers officially announced the release of veteran tight end Jimmy Graham on Thursday.

Graham, who signed a three-year deal in March of 2018, caught 93 passes and scored five touchdowns over 32 regular-season games with the Packers over the last two seasons.

In 2019, Graham caught just 38 passes, his fewest in a single season since his rookie season. He’ll turn 34 years old in November.

The five-time Pro Bowler was paid a little over $22 million by the Packers. Releasing him will save the Packers $8 million on the salary cap in 2020.

Graham bid farewell to Green Bay after news of his impending release leaked Wednesday.

“The last 2 years have certainly been interesting! A lot of memories, friendships and humbling moments that I will carry with me into the next opportunity. Thank you for the support during our exciting run this year toward that ever so elusive ring,” Graham tweeted.
