Packers not expected to bring back CB Davon House

A seventh season in Green Bay doesn’t appear to be in the cards for cornerback Davon House.

According to Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the Packers are not interested in re-signing House, a 2011 draft pick of Ted Thompson who has signed one-year deals in Green Bay each of the last two seasons.

House played in only three games last season before landing on injured reserve with a shoulder injury. He had surgery for the issue in October.

The Packers brought House back for the 2017 season after two years in Jacksonville. He produced 44 tackles, six pass breakups and an interception over 12 games.

There just isn’t a huge need for House on the roster.

Kevin King, Jaire Alexander, Josh Jackson and Tony Brown provide a young talent base at the position, and veterans Tramon Williams and Bashaud Breeland will likely return to add additional depth. The Packers will likely another young player or two in the draft and college free agency.

If this is it for House in Green Bay, the 2011 fourth-round pick will finish his Packers career with three interceptions, three sacks and 31 pass breakups over 55 career games.
