Packers meet with small school OL prospect at pro day

The Green Bay Packers met with an intriguing small school offensive line prospect at Kansas State’s pro day on Wednesday.

According to Herbie Teope of the Kansas City Star, the Packers were one of a few teams to meet with Washburn offensive tackle Kyle Hinton (6-2, 300) following the workout. Hinton was impressive at the pro day, running the 40-yard dash in under 5.0 seconds, hitting 34.5″ in the vertical and bench pressing 225 pounds 34 times.

Hinton played in 40 games and made 34 starts for the Ichabods. He was a three-time Division II All-American and participated in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl game following the 2019 season.

Hinton played mostly left tackle at Washburn but figures to move inside and play on the interior at the next level. It’s possible Hinton could be a Day 3 pick or a priority free agent following the draft.

Hinton caught a 9-yard touchdown pass in his final collegiate game and was a record-breaking thrower for Washburn’s track and field team, competing in both the weight throw and outdoor discus.
