Packers lose first pass interference challenge

The Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears opened the NFL season Thursday. It took until the fourth quarter for there to be challenge on a pass interference call (or non-call). The first in NFL history.

And the refs were correct and Matt LafLeur and Green Bay were docked their second timeout of the half.

Mitchell Trubisky rolled to the right found Taylor Gabriel for a 15-yard gains with a pass near the sideline in front of the Green Bay bench.

LaFleur, coaching his first game for the Packers, threw the flag.

After moments, the referee announced the play stands and the challenge was denied.

Of course, this all came about because of the infamous non-call in the Rams-Saints NFC Championship Game earlier this year.

Former Cleveland Browns star lineman Joe Thomas was quick to offer this thoughts on the ability to challenge such plays.
