Packers look healthy going into primetime clash with Panthers

The current 53-man roster of the Green Bay Packers is a mostly healthy one going into Saturday’s primetime clash with the Carolina Panthers.

The Packers listed only three players with designations on the final injury report released Thursday.

Second-year tight end Jace Sternberger (concussion) and rookie Simon Stepaniak (knee) are both out for the second consecutive game, while receiver Malik Taylor is doubtful (hamstring). Sternberger was the only player who didn’t practice in some capacity on Thursday.

Without Sternberger, expect the Packers to give more snaps to rookie tight end Dominique Dafney, who played 12 snaps on offense last week.

The 13 other players listed on the Packers’ injury report this week are free of designation and will play Saturday. That includes outside linebacker Rashan Gary and cornerback Chandon Sullivan, who both came out of Sunday’s win over the Detroit Lions with hip injuries.

The Panthers listed five as questionable, including receiver Curtis Samuel and safety Tre Boston, and running back Christian McCaffrey is doubtful and not expected to play.

The Packers and Panthers are scheduled for a 7:15 p.m. kickoff from Lambeau Field on Saturday night. Matt LaFleur’s team is looking to win its 11th game and remain the top seed in the NFC.
