Packers list WR Davante Adams as doubtful vs. Chiefs

The Green Bay Packers didn’t officially rule out receiver Davante Adams, but they did list him as doubtful to play on Sunday night against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Adams, who is recovering from a turf toe injury suffered Sept. 26, will be given two more days to see if he get healthy enough to play against the Chiefs. If not, he’ll miss his fourth straight game.

Despite warming up before practices, Adams did not participate in any capacity this week. He could be one week away from returning.

Adams said Thursday he was progressing and “in a really good spot,” but even he admitted he wasn’t fully healed.

“I’m trying every day to get back to where I was. I’m just not quite there yet, but I feel two million times better than what I did,” Adams said.

The Packers also listed tight end Robert Tonyan as doubtful with a hip injury. He didn’t practice Friday. Safety Darnell Savage (ankle) and center Corey Linsley (back) are both questionable but expected to play.

Savage, a standout rookie, will return after missing two straight games.

While 18 players are listed on the Packers’ injury report, only four have official injury designations. The other 14 are expected to play without limitation.

The Chiefs ruled out six starters, including quarterback Patrick Mahomes, left tackle Eric Fisher, defensive lineman Chris Jones and defensive end Frank Clark.
