Packers list OLB Za’Darius Smith as questionable vs. Eagles

The Green Bay Packers listed outside linebacker Za’Darius Smith as questionable for Thursday night’s primetime showdown with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Smith was added to the injury report on Tuesday with a new knee injury. He was deemed a limited participant on both Tuesday and Wednesday and now isn’t guaranteed to play against the Eagles.

Smith, a major free-agent addition to Mike Pettine’s defense, has three sacks and seven quarterback hits through the first three games. His injury situation could mean more opportunities for first-round pick Rashan Gary, who produced his first career sack against the Denver Broncos on Sunday. Even if Smith does play, the Packers may limit his snaps.

It’s possible Smith could be a game-time decision on Thursday night. Inactives are due 90 minutes before kickoff.

The Packers also ruled out defensive lineman Montravius Adams and linebacker Oren Burks and listed receiver Jake Kumerow and outside linebacker Kyler Fackrell as questionable. Adams will miss his second straight game, while Burks hasn’t played since injuring his chest in the preseason opener.

Tight end Jimmy Graham, who is battling groin and quad injuries, wasn’t given an injury designation and is expected to play.

The Eagles will be without receiver DeSean Jackson, cornerback Ronald Darby and defensive lineman Tim Jernigan. All three were ruled out Wednesday. Running back Corey Clement is questionable.
