Packers lead Washington at halftime

The Green Bay Packers lead the Washington Football Team, 14-7, at halftime of Week 7 action at Lambeau Field.

The Packers jumped out to an early 7-0 lead when Aaron Rodgers led his team down the field for an opening-drive touchdown. Rodgers found Davante Adams on an outstanding play as he was heading toward the first-down marker and threw the ball across his body, and Adams did the rest.

On its first drive, Washington answered as quarterback Taylor Heinicke was perfect and hit Terry McLaurin on a 40-yard touchdown to tie the game.

Then, the two teams traded blocked field goals before the Packers scored a touchdown just before halftime. Washington had no answer for wide receiver Allen Lazard who caught several passes on the drive and ended the half with a short touchdown reception from Rodgers.

Washington sacked Rodgers three times in the first half. However, Rodgers was still terrific, completing 19 of 23 passes for 168 yards and two touchdowns.

Heinicke completed six of nine passes for 68 yards and a touchdown. Heinicke led Washington with 49 yards rushing in the first half — 38 came on one run.

Jonathan Allen has two sacks for Washington, while Montez Sweat has one.
