Packers join Texans QB Deshaun Watson in post-practice work

How much of a leader is Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson? So much so that even some Green Bay Packers joined him in post-practice drills.

After the second day of joint practice at Ray Nitschke Field in Green Bay, Watson worked on some footwork drills, and a couple of Packers joined in.

Watson could still use all the work he can get. After all, he probably won’t get very many snaps when the two sides hook up on Aug. 8 in the clubs’ preseason opener. Typically, first-teamers such as Watson get a series at most before returning to the sideline for the rest of the game.

One of the benefits of these joint sessions is it allows iron to sharpen iron. Watson himself was looking forward to the practices with the Packers as it would give him the chance to pick the brain of Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers, a two-time NFL MVP.
