The Green Bay Packers included five players on the team’s first injury report of the 2020 season, including one likely starter.
The Packers listed offensive lineman Billy Turner (knee) and outside linebacker Randy Ramsey (groin) as “did not participate” during Wednesday’s practice, while defensive lineman Montravius Adams (toe), linebacker Oren Burks (groin) and safety Raven Greene (quad) were all listed as limited.
The notable injury on the list is Turner, who could be a starter at right guard or right tackle to start the 2020 season. Packers coach Matt LaFleur implied Turner would get the full week to try and get his knee right in time for Sunday’s showdown with the Minnesota Vikings.
Turner originally hurt his knee during the Packers’ scrimmage at Lambeau Field on Sunday, Aug. 30.
Turner started all 16 games for the Packers at right guard last season. He was competing with Rick Wagner to be the starting right tackle during camp this summer.
Ramsey, a second-year edge rusher, could be in danger of missing his first NFL game.
The three others could be important role players in 2020. Adams is one of only five defensive linemen on the roster, Burks is the likely starter as the second linebacker next to Christian Kirksey, and Greene is Mike Pettine’s go-to player as the hybrid safety-linebacker.
In Minnesota, the Vikings placed Pro Bowl defensive end Danielle Hunter on injured reserve on Wednesday, providing the biggest injury news entering Sunday’s season opener.
The Packers will provide official injury designations on Friday.
