Packers hold pre-draft visit with Washington State OT Andre Dillard

The Green Bay Packers are among the teams that have held a pre-draft workout or visit with Washington State offensive tackle Andre Dillard, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Dillard, a 6-5, 315-pounder who started 39 games for Washington State, is one of the many potential options for the Packers at No. 12 overall in the 2019 NFL draft.

Dillard started every game at left tackle for the Cougars over the last three seasons. Many believe he’s the best pass-blocking offensive tackle in the draft. He then tested out as an elite athlete at his position at the NFL Scouting Combine, solidifying his status as a first-round talent.

Dillard ran the 40-yard dash in 4.96 seconds, finished the three-cone drill in 7.44 seconds and the short shuttle in 4.4. He also put up 24 reps on the bench press and hit 9-10 on the broad jump.

Although most believe he’ll be an impact starter at left tackle, the Packers could view Dillard as the future at right tackle opposite David Bakhtiari. A year working behind Bryan Bulaga could give him the tools necessary for playing on the right side, which would ensure the Packers have two athletic pass protectors holding down the edges for Aaron Rodgers.

The Packers have met with several of the top offensive tackles in the draft during the last few months, including Jawaan Taylor, Dalton Risner, Kaleb McGary, Tytus Howard, Greg Little and now Dillard.
