Packers have four possible opponents in NFC Divisional Round

The Green Bay Packers (13-3) are the No. 1 seed in the NFC, earning the only first-round bye in the conference this year and the opportunity to host a game in the NFC Divisional Round against the lowest-seeded team left in the playoff field.

Matt LaFleur’s team has four possible opponents for the weekend of Jan. 16-17.

The first round of the NFC playoffs looks like this:

No. 7 Chicago Bears (8-8) at No. 2 New Orleans Saints (12-4)
No. 6 Los Angeles Rams (10-6) at No. 3 Seattle Seahawks (12-4)
No. 5 Tampa Bay Buccaneers (11-5) at No. 4 Washington Football Team (7-9)

If the Bears beat the Saints, the Packers will host the Bears. No other result would matter. The Bears are the lowest-seeded team in the NFC.

If all the higher-seeded teams win, the Packers would host the Washington Football Team.

If the Saints, Seahawks and Buccaneers win, the Packers would host the Buccaneers.

If the Saints, Rams and Buccaneers win, the Packers would host the Rams.

There is no scenario where the Packers could play the Saints or Seahawks in the NFC Divisional Round.

The Packers swept the Bears over two games but lost to the Buccaneers in Tampa Bay. LaFleur’s team did not play the Washington Football Team or the Rams this season.

The official dates and times of the second round will be announced following the results of the Wild Card Round.
