Packers DL Montravius Adams believed to have avoided major injury

The injury that forced Green Bay Packers defensive lineman Montravius Adams off the field in a cart during Tuesday’s practice isn’t believed to be a significant one.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Adams sprained his toe, but the injury “doesn’t sound serious.”

Trainers carted Adams to the Don Hutson Center about midway through Tuesday’s practice.

A third-round pick in 2017, Adams is just beginning a crucial training camp and will now have to deal with an injury that could hamper his ability to practice over the next few weeks.

Last season, Adams played in 14 games but registered only 11 tackles. Over 37 career games, Adams has only 1.5 sacks, two tackles for losses and six quarterback hits.

The Packers need Adams to take a step in his fourth season and become a contributing member of the defensive line for coordinator Mike Pettine.
