Packers DL Kenny Clark cracks PFF’s Top 50 players list entering 2019

Green Bay Packers defensive lineman Kenny Clark can be safely considered one of the NFL’s elite defensive players.

Clark, the Packers’ fourth-year interior disruptor, ranked No. 37 on Pro Football Focus’ top 50 players list entering the 2019 season.

Massive improvement as a pass-rusher during his third season turned Clark into a wrecking ball in the middle of the Packers defense. He tallied six sacks and nine quarterback hits while ranking in the top 12 of pass-rush win percentage and total pressure percentage in 2018, per PFF.

In May, GM Brian Gutekunst made the easy decision to pick up Clark’s fifth-year option. He’ll be under contract in Green Bay through the 2020 season.

“He’s obviously a dominant player for us on our defensive front. I think the best is yet to come,” Gutekunst said.

For reference on Clark’s ranking, consider he’s two spots higher than Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson and just one spot below New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara.

The final 30 players of PFF’s list will be released this week. It’s possible quarterback Aaron Rodgers, receiver Davante Adams and offensive tackle David Bakhtiari will be included.
