Packers cut 2018 fourth-round pick J’Mon Moore

J’Mon Moore’s turbulent career in Green Bay is ending.

According to Ryan Wood of PackersNews.com, the Packers are releasing Moore, the team’s fourth-round pick in the 2018 draft.

Despite undeniable physical talent, Moore struggled to catch the football during his two seasons with the Packers and never seriously threatened for a roster spot during this year’s training camp.

Moore played in 12 games as a rookie but caught only two passes for 15 yards and lost a fumble on a kickoff return. A fresh start under new coach Matt LaFleur opened up an opportunity but Moore once again struggled to hold onto the ball this summer. In the preseason opener, Moore dropped at least two passes, including one in the end zone, and stumbled down during a route over the middle.

Veterans Trevor Davis and Jake Kumerow and both Allen Lazard and rookie Darrius Shepherd outperformed Moore during camp and the preseason.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Equanimeous St. Brown, who were both drafted after Moore in the 2018 draft, are both expected to make the team. In fact, Valdes-Scantling is a starter.

The Packers picked Moore with the 133rd overall pick in the 2018 draft.
