The Green Bay Packers overcame a 14-point second-half deficit and stunned the Detroit Lions at the buzzer, using two Aaron Rodgers touchdown passes to tie the game and a big play from Aaron Jones to set up Mason Crosby’s game-winning field goal attempt as time expired.
The comeback win clinched a first-round bye for Matt LaFleur’s team.
The Packers, now 13-3, will finish no worse than the No. 2 seed in the NFC. They can clinch the No. 1 seed if the San Francisco 49ers lose or tie to the Seattle Seahawks later Sunday night.
Rodgers struggled for much of the afternoon, but he tossed touchdown passes to Davante Adams and Allen Lazard to tie the game at 20. On the final drive, Jones turned a short screen pass into a 31-yard gain, setting up Crosby’s 33-yard game-winner with no time remaining.
The Packers fell behind 14-0 and 17-3 but rallied in the second half to win a fifth straight game.
