Packers coach Matt LaFleur tears Achilles, needs surgery

Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur tore an Achilles tendon playing basketball Wednesday and will need surgery, according to Michael Silver of NFL Network.

LaFleur is planning to have surgery Sunday and will be expected to spend the rest of the offseason operating from a cart.

Packers coaches, including LaFleur, have played competitive basketball at Lambeau Field throughout the offseason.

The Packers have several more sessions of  OTAs before the workout program wraps up in mid-June.

LaFleur, 39, has been a hands-on coach during practices, throwing passes and actively participating in drills.
