Packers claim WR Jawill Davis off waivers from Giants

The Green Bay Packers are adding depth at receiver and returner.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Packers claimed receiver Jawill Davis off waivers from the New York Giants.

Davis, who signed with the Giants as an undrafted free agent out of Bethune-Cookman following the 2018 draft, played in seven games as a rookie last season, catching four passes for 40 yards and returning 12 punts and seven kickoffs.

He ended his rookie season on injured reserve with a dislocated knee cap.

The Giants released him after signing three draft picks last week.

Before the 2018 draft, Davis (6-0, 197) ran the 40-yard dash in 4.37 seconds, hit 39″ in the vertical and 10-4 in the broad jump.

The Packers could use another experienced option at returner, where there is no favorite going into training camp.

The Packers made several other roster moves Monday, including signing receiver Darrius Shepherd and cornerback Chandon Sullivan and releasing running back Lavon Coleman. The roster is at 90 players.
