Packers claim rookie LB Markus Jones off waivers from Ravens

The Green Bay Packers have claimed rookie outside linebacker Markus Jones (6-3, 249) off of waivers from the Baltimore Ravens.

Jones, an undrafted free agent from Angelo State, was waived by the Ravens on Tuesday.

Over his final three collegiate seasons, Jones tallied 31.5 sacks and 71 tackles for losses. He was a DII All-American and the DII Defensive Player of the Year in 2018 after producing 17.5 sacks and 36.5 tackles for losses, which led the nation.

Jones holds the school record at Angelo State for career sacks (37.0).

The Packers released rookie cornerback Javien Hamilton, who missed Wednesday’s practice, to make room for Jones on the 90-man roster.
