Packers CB Kevin King (groin) listed as doubtful vs. Cowboys

The Green Bay Packers will almost certainly be without starting cornerback Kevin King on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys.

King, who is dealing with a groin injury first suffered last Thursday night against the Philadelphia Eagles, was listed as doubtful for Sunday’s showdown with the Cowboys.

King didn’t practice all week. The vast majority of players listed as doubtful end up not playing.

It’s another unfortunate setback for King, who produced one of the finest games of his NFL career against Alshon Jeffery and the Eagles in Week 4. If he can’t go Sunday, King will miss his 18th career game since joining the NFL as a second-round pick in 2017. He’s played in only 19 games.

The Packers also ruled out cornerback Tony Brown, creating a big opportunity for second-year cornerback Josh Jackson to play a major role against the Cowboys. Rookie Ka’dar Hollman may also make his NFL debut.

King played in each of the Packers’ first four games, producing 17 tackles, four pass breakups, one sack (Week 1 vs. Mitchell Trubisky) and one interception (Week 2 vs. Kirk Cousins).
