Packers CB Jaire Alexander questionable to return vs. Steelers with shoulder injury

A fourth-down stop in the third quarter might have been a costly one for the Green Bay Packers.

All-Pro cornerback Jaire Alexander, who helped stopped the Steelers short of the first down on the play, absorbed a big hit from running back Najee Harris while trying to make the tackle and had to exit the game with what the Packers are calling a shoulder injury.

Alexander was evaluated on the field for several minutes. He appeared to be favoring his right arm exiting the field, and the Packers carted him back to the locker room for further evaluation.

The Packers replaced Alexander with backup Isaac Yiadom. The team is already without cornerback Kevin King, who is in the league’s concussion protocol.

Alexander was a second-team All-Pro last season. He is one of the Packers’ best defensive players.

Coach Matt LaFleur may provide an update on Alexander’s status following the game.
