Packers CB Jaire Alexander named second-team All-Pro in 2020

Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander was named a second-team All-Pro for the 2020 NFL season by the Associated Press.

Alexander, who emerged as a shutdown cornerback in his third NFL season, received 18 of a possible 50 All-Pro votes. The first-team cornerbacks were Jalen Ramsey of the Los Angeles Rams and Xavien Howard of the Miami Dolphins.

Alexander, the first draft pick of Packers GM Brian Gutekunst, is a first-time All-Pro.

Targeted 69 times, Alexander allowed only 35 catches for 337 yards and two touchdowns in 2020, per Pro Football Focus. He gave up 4.9 yards per attempt, 9.6 yards per catch and a passer rating of 68.3 when targeted. He broke up 13 passes and had just one penalty.

Alexander finished the season as the top-graded cornerback at PFF. He had the highest forced incompletion rate among players at his position.

The third-year cornerback began his season with a game-changing sack-safety against Kirk Cousins and the Minnesota Vikings in Week 1. He intercepted one pass and recovered two fumbles.

Only twice did Alexander allow 50 or more yards against his coverage in a single game. In all 16 games, he allowed a passer rating under 100.0 on targets against him, per PFF.

Alexander was named to his first Pro Bowl in 2020.

The Packers had four first-team All-Pros and six total All-Pros in 2020.
