Packers bring back Tremon Smith to practice squad, add RB Damarea Crockett

The Green Bay Packers announced three changes to the practice squad on Wednesday, including the return of a familiar face.

The Packers added cornerback/returner Tremon Smith and running back Damarea Crockett to the practice squad and released tight end Ethan Wolf from the practice squad. The team had an opening after promoting Evan Baylis to the active roster on Monday.

Smith, who was claimed off waivers by the Packers on Sept. 17, played in three games in Green Bay before being waived again Monday. He returned three kickoffs for 68 yards.

Crockett, a 5-11, 224-pound rookie, met with the Packers before the draft. He spent the first six weeks of the 2019 season on the Oakland Raiders’ practice squad. He’ll give the Packers a fourth running back to replace Tra Carson, who was waived to make room for receiver Ryan Grant on Wednesday. It’s possible Carson could return on the practice squad once he clears waivers.
