Packers bring back TE Evan Baylis to practice squad, release LB B.J. Bello

There’s nothing easy about life on the roster fringes in the NFL.

Two weeks after being promoted to the active roster and two days after being released, tight end Evan Baylis returned to the Green Bay Packers’ practice squad, the team announced Friday.

To make room, the Packers released linebacker B.J. Bello, who was signed to the practice squad on Wednesday.

Baylis was released to clear a roster spot for outside linebacker Tim Williams, who was claimed off of waivers from the Baltimore Ravens. Baylis saw action in two games, playing one snap on offense and 13 on special teams.

The Packers initially promoted Baylis in response to injuries to starting tight end Jimmy Graham.

Bello, who replaced Brady Sheldon on the practice squad, lasted just two days in Green Bay.
