The Green Bay Packers will play their first international preseason game since 1997 when they face the Oakland Raiders in Winnipeg on Thursday night. The Packers will also host the Raiders during the regular season in Week 7.
It was believed quarterback Aaron Rodgers would make his debut in this matchup after being scratched from last week’s game due to back tightness, however, the Packers are reportedly still mulling whether to play him or not.
Following this week’s international trip, the Packers will wrap up the preseason back home at Lambeau Field against the Kansas City Chiefs at 7:00 p.m. (CDT) on Thursday, Aug. 29.
The 17-station Packers TV Network will air the game across the state of Wisconsin, Upper Michigan, northeastern Minnesota, the Quad Cities, Des Moines, Cedar Rapids and Waterloo in Iowa, Peoria in Illinois, St. Louis in Missouri, Sioux Falls in South Dakota and Anchorage, Fairbanks and Juneau in Alaska.
CBS’s Kevin Harlan (play-by-play) will be joined by former Packers receiver and current analyst James Lofton in the booth. Former Green Bay fullback John Kuhn and WTMJ’s Lance Allen will report from the sidelines.
The game can be listened to over Milwaukee’s WTMJ (620 AM) and the Packers Radio Network, which is made up of 50 stations in five states. Wayne Larrivee (play-by-play) and Larry McCarren (analyst) will call the preseason matchup.
