Packers add LB B.J. Bello, release LB Brady Sheldon from practice squad

The Green Bay Packers swapped linebackers on the practice squad, releasing Brady Sheldon to make room for B.J. Bello.

Bello signed as an undrafted free agent with the Cleveland Browns and played in all 16 games as a rookie in 2017. He’s since played for three other NFL franchises, including playing in three games with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2018 and spending this past summer with the Houston Texans.

The Packers got a close look at Bello during a pair of joint practices and the preseason opener at Lambeau Field in early August.

To make room for Bello, the Packers released Sheldon, who spent training camp in Green Bay and the first four weeks of the 2019 season on the team’s practice squad.
