Packers add former Bears G Dejon Allen to 90-man roster

The Green Bay Packers added depth along the offensive line before Thursday night’s preseason finale, signing former Chicago Bears guard Dejon Allen.

Allen went undrafted out of Hawaii in 2018 but spent the entire season on the Bears’ practice squad.

The Packers hosted Allen, who made 49 collegiate starts, for an official pre-draft visit before the 2018 draft.

The 6-2, 300-pounder ran under five seconds in the 40-yard dash, put up 30 reps on the bench press and finished the three-cone drill in 7.5 seconds at Hawaii’s pro day. Allen also has experience playing left tackle, making 24 starts at the position in college.

The Bears released Allen in May of this year.

The Packers host the Kansas City Chiefs in the preseason finale on Thursday night at Lambeau Field.
