Packers add depth to roster, sign LB and CB

The Packers are adding a pair of rookies, linebacker James Folston and cornerback Jocquez Kalili, to their 90-man roster, according to the team’s official web site.

Folston (6-3, 233) played his college football at the University of Pittsburgh, originally signing with the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent in May of 2019. In his four college seasons, Folston tallied 40 solo tackles and 1.5 sacks in 43 games.

Per The Athletic’s Matt Schneidman, Folston is practicing with the outside linebackers at today’s practice.

Kalili (5-10, 185) signed undrafted out of the University of Nevada-Las Vegas with the Jacksonville Jaguars. At UNLV, Kalili collected 60 tackles, five passes defensed, three forced fumbles and a fumble recovery in two seasons.

The additions of Folston and Kalili replace the roster vacancies made by the team’s decition to cut running back Darrin Hall and former second-round pick Josh Jones. Teams must cut down their roster from 90 to 53 players by Aug. 31 at 4 p.m. ET.
