Packers activate WR Allen Lazard from injured reserve

The Green Bay Packers are getting back their No. 2 wide receiver.

Allen Lazard, who has been out since suffering a core muscle injury on Sept. 27 against the New Orleans Saints, was activated from injured reserve on Tuesday, the team announced.

During the first three weeks, Lazard caught 13 passes for 254 yards and two scores. He played at least 84 percent of the offense’s snaps in all three games.

Lazard actually had a strong case as one of the NFL’s most efficient receivers during the first three weeks. He was on pace to catch 69 passes and score 10 touchdowns before suffering the injury.

In Week 3, Lazard caught six passes for a career-high 146 yards and a score in the win over the Saints.

With both Lazard and Davante Adams back and healthy, the Packers will have their top three receivers – including Marquez Valdes-Scantling – available for the first time since Adams went down with a hamstring injury in Week 2.

Lazard should make his long-awaited return on Sunday when the Packers play the Indianapolis Colts in Week 11.
