Packers’ Aaron Rodgers, David Bakhtiari both drop out of Pro Bowl

The Green Bay Packers had two players selected for the 2020 Pro Bowl, and neither player will participate.

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers and left tackle David Bakhtiari both dropped out of the Pro Bowl following Sunday’s NFC Championship Game loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins replaced Rodgers, while Philadelphia Eagles offensive tackle Lane Johnson replaced Bakhtiari.

The NFL replaced the four players for the 49ers headed to the Super Bowl, but the Packers did not receive another Pro Bowler as an alternate.

Kicker Mason Crosby and outside linebacker Za’Darius Smith were both first alternates. Other alternates for the Packers include receiver Davante Adams, defensive lineman Davante Adams, safety Adrian Amos, running back Aaron Jones, cornerback Jaire Alexander and center Corey Linsley.

It’s increasingly possible the Packers will not have a player at the Pro Bowl in Orlando. The game will be played on Sunday, Jan. 26 at 3:00 p.m. EST and can be watched on ABC.
