Packed concert with 4,000 fans inside locked down as police rush to reports of bomb threat

A reported bomb threat caused police to lock down a packed Karol G concert in Charlotte, North Carolina on Tuesday evening.

Around four thousand fans were expected to pile in to the Spectrum Center hoping to see the Latin icon perform some of her hit songs, but police brought the show to a halt after a CMPD bomb dog detected something in a bin outside, according to sources.

WSOC-TV reported that the nearby Transit Center was also evacuated and area's CityLYNX Gold transport link was shut down amid the discovery. Areas outside the Transit Center and Spectrum Center were cordoned off by officers.

The channel has since reported the bin in question has been emptied and no threat was found, meaning surrounding streets are able to reopen in due course.

"It was determined there is no threat identified at this time," CMPD have now tweeted.

As events unfolded, fans took to Twitter to comment on the situation with one saying: " My tia is at the Karol G concert and she told me they evacuated everyone because of a bomb threat."

Another wrote: "Not a bomb threat at the @karolg concert in CLT. Girl hold on for us this like ain’t it."

The Mirror has contacted Karol G's representatives and the Spectrum Center for comment.
