Pablo Zabaleta has revealed this season will be his last in the Premier League.
West Ham's Argentine full-back is ready to quit England after his contract expires at the end of the campaign, after a 12-year stint that saw him win the Premier League twice with Manchester City .
The 34-year-old insists he doesn't know if he will retire when he leaves the Hammers after three years in London.
But as he prepared to face former club City in the Premier League's Asia Trophy tomorrow, Zabaleta confirmed: “It will definitely be my last season in England.
“This is something I know. I will try to enjoy it as much as I can.
“I’ve been in the Premier League a long time and I know I will miss it when the moment arrives that I leave.
“I just focus on what we’re doing to get fit in this pre-season and play as much as I can.”
Zabaleta, who was also a two-time League Cup winner and lifted the FA Cup on his way to becoming a legend at the Etihad, added: “I don’t know if I will retire.
“I will know the right moment to think about retirement. I will know at the end of another long season.
“The reason I’m here is I’m still enjoying my football.
“The manager (Manuel Pellegrini) was one of the reasons why I decided to extend my contract because it is good to have the chance to work with a manager you know very well from previous years.
“Also, because I think I can still give 100 percent for the team and use all my experience.
“I know I am 34, I’m getting a bit old. I’m coming to the end of my career.
“I’m honest with myself, but I’m still a good professional and I will give everything for the team.
“I’m still enjoying being around the team, helping the young players.”
