Pablo Hernandez tweet sparks hope of Leeds United injury return

Pablo Hernandez's most recent injury has kept him out of the matchday squad for Leeds' last three outings in the Premier League, leading some supporters to speculate over a falling out between the Spaniard and coach Marcelo Bielsa.

The 35-year-old made headlines as he was substituted off against Leicester City earlier this season with a show of petulance which appears to have not gone down all too well with Bielsa.

Hernandez thrust his armband into the stand at being subbed, before kicking a pitchside water bottle in frustration.

Initially, fans thought nothing of the Pablo outburst, but his omission from recent squads suggest there could be more than meets the eye.

Leeds FFOTY 2020

This theory has been stirred further by a tweet from Pablo's partner, which seemed to imply he was fit for selection.

@Margarciafdez tweeted: "superhealthy" followed by a football emoji and blue heart, synonymous with her previous tweets about Leeds United.

This has led many fans to believe there is a deeper issue at play, and more than a recent injury to blame for Pablo's non-involvement lately.

The timing is particularly interesting as it does follow Pablo's Leicester outburst, although it is possible the extended period he has been unavailable is simply a reflection of the 35-year-old's advancing years and his body's inability to recuperate as quickly.

That would tally with the fact Hernandez rarely finished 90 minutes when the Championship restarted back in June, and has not managed to do so once in the Premier League this season.

The former Valencia and Swansea City man still has over a year remaining on his deal at the club; one would imagine he still has a major role to play within the Whites' squad.

Equally, Mar Garcia's tweet could simply have been a mere celebration of her husband's return to full fitness and precedes his return to the matchday squad for the visit of West Ham United weekend.

If Bielsa continues to omit the Spanish talisman though, it could add further weight to the implications that Hernandez's days are numbered at Elland Road.

As for now, there have been no explicit statements from either party which would infer relations are anything but normal between Bielsa and Hernandez. Until there is more substance to these theories, there should be little to worry about.
