Leeds United midfielder Pablo Hernandez has highlighted the importance of togetherness around the entire club in helping the Whites gain promotion from the Championship this season.
It was a special weekend for Marcelo Bielsa’s men as they became a Premier League club and Championship Champions without even kicking a ball on Friday and Saturday.
Huddersfield’s win over West Bromwich Albion on Friday night ensured that Leeds would be playing Premier League football next season, and set off a weekend of celebrations.
It got even better for the Whites after Stoke City’s 1-0 win over Brentford handed them the Championship title.
Leeds then rounded off the weekend with a 3-1 win over Derby County at Pride Park - the team that beat them in the play-off semi-finals last season.
While fans weren’t allowed in the stands to celebrate with the players,due to the coronavirus pandemic, there has still been a connection between fans and the rest of the club during the weekend as they celebrated together at Elland Road on Friday night.
And Hernandez has highlighted that togetherness runs through the entire club and played a big part in the memorable season.
“We achieved this goal together, from the first people in the club to the last one, from the staff and the players from the staff all around at the club,” he told TalkSPORT.
“All the fans, everybody, we are a family and we’ve achieved this together and now we need to celebrate together too.”
Leeds have another chance to celebrate this season when they take on Charlton in their final game of the season at Elland Road on Wednesday night.
