Pablo Hernandez claim to bring a tear to Leeds United fans' eyes as Spaniard ready to depart

Today will be an emotional one for many reasons as some lucky Leeds United fans make their way back to Elland Road to watch Premier League football for the first time in two decades.

Among the many subplots to this afternoon's home game with West Bromwich Albion, will be the departure of Pablo Hernandez.

The man who was so important to helping Leeds reach the promised land finally, will saw his goodbyes to the club and supporters after four memorable years with the Whites.

A free transfer, the Spaniard represents one of the greatest transfer moves in the club's history, with his place among the pantheons of great players to have played for Leeds United assured.

That's a sentiment shared by Sky Sports pundit Danny Higginbotham, who has summed up perfectly what many Leeds fans will be feeling right now.

“People talk about Leeds United in the Championship, and there was a lot of pressure on them then. Every single season they were expected to be challenging, and he was the one constant," Higginbotham told Sky Sports.

“He is truly incredible, and he’s been a fantastic player, a fantastic servant, and he’ll go down in history as a real Leeds United great.”
