The Palestinian Authority (PA) formed a crisis cell to follow up on the case of seven Palestinians who went missing in Turkey this month.
The political adviser of the Foreign Minister, Ahmed al-Deek, said the cell that was formed at the Palestinian embassy in Ankara met with Turkish officials of the Interior and Foreign Ministries and the security services.
The meeting discussed the responsibilities of Turkish officials to exert more efforts to locate the Palestinians.
In an interview with a local media, Deek said Palestine submitted an official memorandum to Turkey since it was first informed of the disappearance of the seven citizens in Turkey.
He described the incident as "shocking and worrisome," adding there are real fears for the citizens, hoping their fate will be soon revealed.
Five Palestinians disappeared in Istanbul, while a sixth went missing in Konya, and a seventh disappeared along the Turkish-Greek border.
Three of the disappeared were from the Gaza Strip and four from the West Bank, including one woman. They were in Turkey to work and study.
Deek noted that the embassy in Turkey was asked to inform the Palestinian citizens in Turkey to exercise caution and settle their legal statuses.
All Palestinians in Turkey should be vigilant and careful and ensure that their legal status in terms of residence in the country is settled according to relevant laws, added Deek.
"We asked our community to cooperate with our embassy and all Palestinian parties in Turkey to follow up on this issue."
The Palestinian embassy in Turkey called on anyone with information to come forward to the official authorities.
Palestinian officials confirmed that there was no available information about the matter to date.
