
A p-plater has been fined more than $1800 after being caught doing 167 kilometres per hour in an 80km/h zone.
The 17-year-old male was clocked more than 80 km/h over the speed limit just after 8pm on Monday.
Police stopped the Macgregor man driving a white Holden Commodore sedan while they conducted speed detection duties along William Hovell Drive, Stromlo.
The 17-year-old was issue an infringement for exceeding the speed limit by greater than 45m/h, which carries a fine of $1841 and six demerit points.
The p-plater's licence will be automatically suspended for a period of three months.
