Houston Rockets starting center and usual defensive ace P.J. Tucker went into the All-Star break on something of a hot streak, shooting 39.1% from 3-point range over his last five games.
After a layoff of more than a week, that form certainly carried over into Houston’s first game after the All-Star break.
Tucker made all five of his 3-pointers in the first half of Thursday night’s game at Golden State, leading the Rockets to a 22-point halftime advantage at Chase Center in San Francisco.
Tucker has now made at least three 3-pointers in four of his last six games, which he hadn’t done once in his previous 24 games.
Tucker’s 15 points at halftime trailed only franchise stars and former MVPs Russell Westbrook (17) and James Harden (16). For the 2019-20 season to date, Tucker entered Thursday shooting 36.4% on 3-pointers — which would be the lowest of his three seasons in Houston.
The Rockets hit 15-of-26 shots as a team from 3-point range (57.7%) in the first half, while the Warriors made just 1-of-14 (7.1%).
