P.F. Chang's frozen meal recall expanded: Sauce may contain metal

CHICAGO _ A recall of P.F. Chang's frozen meals is being expanded because the sauce may contain small pieces of metal.

P.F. Chang's Home Menu brand products are made by Chicago-based ConAgra, which also produces brands like Slim Jim and Chef Boyardee.

An initial recall was issued on July 7 after a ConAgra employee observed metal fragments while dispensing sugar from a supplier for a P.F. Chang's sauce ingredient. ConAgra said it was notified last Thursday that more sugar production lots contained the metal fragments, and that the recall needed to be expanded.

P.F. Chang's meals under recall include Signature Spicy Chicken, Mongolian Style Beef, Beef with Broccoli, Shrimp Lo Mein, Sweet & Sour Chicken, General Chang's Chicken, Garlic Chicken with Dan Dan noodles and Grilled Chicken Teriyaki with Lo Mein Noodles. All come in 22-ounce packages.

No injuries or adverse reactions have been reported. No food from P.F. Chang's restaurants or other ConAgra products are being recalled.

Consumers who have purchased these items are being asked to return them to the place of purchase.
