Ozzy Osbourne's son Jack reveals why he 'wasn't close at all' with sister Aimee before reunion at funeral

Ozzy Osbourne’s son Jack has revealed he is “not close at all” with his rarely-seen older sister, Aimee.

The siblings reunited at the Black Sabbath rocker’s funeral last week, which involved a public procession through Birmingham and an emotional private service at the family home in Buckinghamshire.

Jack, Aimee, and their sister Kelly were seen fighting back tears as they paid tribute to Ozzy - who died aged 76 last month - alongside their sobbing mother Sharon at the public service.

However, in a podcast chat recorded just weeks before the funeral, Jack, 39, admitted he doesn’t have a “great” relationship with Aimee, 41.

He discussed how they grew distant when Jack and Kelly starred in the MTV series, The Osbournes, alongside Ozzy and their mother Sharon - something Aimee chose not to appear in to protect her privacy.

“Back then she really wanted to be a musician and the kind of musician she wanted to be was like a Fiona Apple, Mazzy Star, like this kind of obscure, mysterious, moody,” he said on the Disrespectfully podcast.

Jack went on: “And she deemed doing a show on MTV as low-hanging fruit. She was like, ‘I’m not going to be seen riding coat-tails,’ kind of thing, that’s how she perceived it.

“Once the show was hugely successful I think she was kind of like, ‘Well I can’t now come on because I don’t want to be seen even more so as jumping on the bandwagon’.

“And she dug her heels in and wanted to be relatively private and obscure.”

Jack said they weren’t on good terms when asked if he thinks Aimee regretted not taking part in The Osbournes, which launched in 2002 and ran for four series.

“I’ve never had the conversation with her, we’re not close at all. We don’t have a great relationship, she’ll be the first to tell you that, so it’s no secret,” he said.

“I’ve never asked her outright, ‘Do you regret it?’

Jack continued: “I think there must be a level of like, ‘Hey, my life would have probably been different than what it is if I’d done that.’

“So I don’t know, I think I would feel like I would have regretted it.”

In 2021, Kelly, 40, said she had been estranged from Aimee for a long time.

“We don't talk,” she said on Dax Shepard’s podcast Armchair Expert.

“We're just really different. She doesn't understand me and I don't understand her.”

Aimee - who is a singer under the name ARO which reflects her initials - echoed the sentiment when asked about their relationship.

“I wouldn't say there is an ease between us, but there is an acceptance,” she told The Independent in 2015.

“Do we socialize? No.”

Music manager Sharon previously said she regretted letting Aimee move out as a teenager so that she wouldn’t be on camera while The Osbournes was filming.

“She felt too that she didn't want to grow up on camera. She hated the idea - it was appalling to her,” she said on The Talk in 2016.

“And so she left at 16 and I regret every day that she did. It broke my heart when she moved.”
