Ozzy Osbourne is eating £1.50 supermarket curries with his own chips in lockdown

Rock wildman Ozzy Osbourne, who once bit a bat’s head off on stage, is eating £1.50 supermarket curries in lockdown.

The Brummie-born Black Sabbath singer, 71, buys them from his local store in Los Angeles and has them with homemade chips, his son Jack revealed.

He said his dad, who has Parkinson’s disease, stopped ordering his favourite take-aways from restaurants for fear kitchen or delivery staff could infect him with Covid-19.

“So to put a wall of safety around him, we told him to try Trader Joe’s curries – and he loves them with french fries he makes,” said Jack, 34.

“Here’s the thing – I’m not letting a disease started by bats kill my dad. And this is not some giant revenge plot from bats to get him back.

“He’s on the ultimate calorie-packed ‘I’m at home f***-it diet’. He’s really happy about it and this will hold him over for quite some time.”

Ozzy’s menu includes chicken tikka masala and butter chicken.

Jack said: “Dad has had a rough go over the last year and it’s a huge scare with this virus.

“He had pneumonia twice in 2019 and the family felt, ‘You’re in the crosshairs of this thing so let’s just isolate you’.”

Jack also told how his dad and mum Sharon, 67, are “massively bored” in lockdown in their Beverly Hills mansion.

“They’re stir crazy,” he said. “Luckily mum can still do The Talk on US TV.”
