Ozzy Osbourne feared he was dying and his family was hiding it after surgery

Ozzy Osbourne has opened up about his health problems, admitting that at one point he thought he was dying.

The Black Sabbath frontman, 71, endured a fall, neck surgery and hospitalisation for the flu last year and he also has Parkinson's disease.

He says he was in so much pain following his surgery that he thought it was the end and his family was hiding it from him.

Speaking to SiriusXM, Ozzy said: "I'm not back to 100 percent. I'm about 75 percent there, but it's such a slow recovery.

"Spine surgery is bad news, man. I've been in such a bad state with pain; I'm still having a lot of pain."

"There was a point I was convinced that I was dying," he added.

"I was in that much discomfort and pain and misery. I thought they were all hiding it from me.

"I remember saying to Sharon, 'You've gotta level with me. Is it worse than you're making it out [to be]?' She says, 'No.'

"I've dropped all the medication for pain now."

Despite his wealth woes, Ozzy says he can't wait to get back on stage.

He continued: "I cannot wait [to get on stage], but I was talking to Tony Iommi the other day, and he was saying with the way it's going with this coronavirus, indoor shows will be a thing of the past."

Ozzy believes this helped his recovery.

"That whole album came out of nowhere and it was so much fun," he said.

"It was what I needed to get me out of my gloom and doom and my recovery."
