Ozzy Osbourne has cancelled his planned North American tour to undergo treatment for Parkinson’s disease.
The former Black Sabbath frontman will be travelling to Switzerland for the pre-planned medical treatment. The North America tour was scheduled to run from 27 Mary until 31 July.
“I’m so thankful that everyone has been patient because I’ve had a s**t year,” said the heavy metal singer in a statement.
“Unfortunately, I won’t be able to get to Switzerland for treatment until April and the treatment takes six-eight weeks.”
“I don’t want to start a tour and then cancel shows at the last minute,” he continued, “as it’s just not fair to the fans.”
“I’d rather they get a refund now and when I do the North American tour down the road, everyone who bought a ticket for these shows will be the first ones in line to purchase tickets at that time.”
Osbourne had recently revealed that he has been suffering from the neurological disease PRKN 2 since 2003.
He is still expected to complete his arena tour of the UK in October 2020, however, for which he will share billing with Judas Priest.
Osbourne’s new album Ordinary Man is out on 21 February.
